Kathryn Grosvenor was 23 years of age at the time of her murder and was last seen at her Nicholls home on Sunday 3 March 2002. Kathryn’s mother spoke to her on the phone that day at around 7.50pm.
There are two unconfirmed sightings of Kathryn in the Gold Creek area the night she went missing, including a sighting at the George Harcourt Inn in Nicholls, where she was thought to have purchased cigarettes between 9.05 and 9.15pm.
She was 178cm tall with a slim build and long brown/red hair. She was last seen wearing dark coloured hipster pants, electric blue platform boots, and a red ‘Paris’ top.
Around 9am on Saturday 9 March 2002 a canoeist found her body in Yarralumla Bay, 200m east of Attunga Point. She had been weighed down by a concrete bollard which had originated from Anthony Rolfe Drive in Gungahlin.
In 2002 a witness came forward with information that a man was seen stopped on the side of Anthony Rolfe Avenue near the roundabout at the time, and saw this person place an item in the boot of a vehicle.
The car is described as red and similar to an early 1980s model Toyota Corolla sedan.

Recent developments
In March 2012 another witness came forward with information claiming that two men were seen about to load a block of concrete kerbing from the roadside into the rear of a black ute. A second red vehicle was parked on the median strip at the time.
The two-door ute was black and in very good condition. There was no cover over the tray. The tray had fixed sides which were part of the vehicle. The witness believes it could have been a Ford or a Holden.
The other vehicle is described as a red sedan, small to medium size in poor condition and faded paint work.
The first man is described as Caucasian in appearance and aged in his mid-twenties to mid-thirties. He was about 180cm (5’11) tall, had a medium to large athletic build, suntanned skin and brown short messy hair. He was wearing knee-length dark beige shorts and a light-coloured short-sleeved shirt.
The second man is also described as Caucasian in appearance, around 173cm (5’8”) tall with a slim build. He had dark wavy hair and is described as having a scruffy appearance. He was wearing dark ‘stubbie’ shorts and a light-coloured short-sleeved T-shirt with no collar.
Police are urging anyone with any information, no matter how small, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can be provided anonymously.
A $500 000 reward is in place for information leading to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of the person(s) responsible for Kathryn’s murder and an appropriate indemnity from prosecution will be considered for any accomplice who first gives information.
